What we collect
If you join our waitlist, we collect your email address. At the time you sign up we also record automatically: the date and time, your IP address, and the wording you agreed to.
Why we collect it
We use your details to:
- Tell you when B-VOYA launches
- Send you occasional travel notes, itinerary previews and offers relating to travel in Sri Lanka
- Keep a record that you agreed to receive these emails, which we are required to hold under the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007
We do not sell your information. We do not pass it to other companies to market to you.
Where it’s held
Your details are held for us by Mailchimp, the platform we use to manage our mailing list and send our emails. Their servers are outside New Zealand, including in the United States.
Mailchimp holds this information on our behalf and does not use it for its own purposes. Under section 11 of the Privacy Act 2020 the information is treated as held by us, and we remain responsible for it. Our agreement with them also requires them to protect it to a standard comparable to the safeguards in the Privacy Act.
We may disclose your information where the law requires us to.
Keeping it safe
We limit access to the mailing list to those of us who need it, and the accounts we use to reach it are protected by two-factor authentication.
How long we keep it
We keep your details for as long as you stay subscribed.
If you unsubscribe, we keep a minimal record — your email address and the date you unsubscribed — so that we can honour your request and avoid contacting you again.
Unsubscribing
Every email we send has an unsubscribe link. You can also email hello@bvoya.com and we’ll take you off the list.
If you send us a trip enquiry
If you contact us or request a journey, we collect what you choose to share — your name, your email or phone number, and any trip details you give us, such as dates, group size and preferences. We use this only to reply and to help plan your trip. Sending us an enquiry does not add you to our marketing list, and we keep these messages only as long as we need them to help you.
Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you
- Correct anything that’s wrong
- Delete your information

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz or 0800 803 909.
Cookies and analytics
Separately from the waitlist, we use a privacy-friendly analytics tool to count page visits and see which sites people arrive from. That tool does not use cookies, does not track you across other websites, and does not tell us who you are.
This is only about visitors to the site. It has nothing to do with the details you give us if you join the waitlist — those are covered by the sections above.

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be here, with the date it was last updated at the top.
